Vacationing Bush Poised to Set a Record

President Bush reminds us that we are at war and that we ...oh nevermind. he's on vacation again. (reminder: in his first 4 years he was on vacation 42% of the time).

WACO, Tex., Aug. 2 -- President Bush is getting the kind of break most Americans can only dream of -- nearly five weeks away from the office, loaded with vacation time.

The president departed Tuesday for his longest stretch yet away from the White House, arriving at his Crawford ranch in the evening for a stretch of clearing brush, visiting with family and friends, and tending to some outside-the-Beltway politics. By historical standards, it is the longest presidential retreat in at least 36 years

This just shows where his real priorities are. He sees being the President as just a job. It's like you can hear him thinking TGIF or something. He wants to be president, just so he can say he was the president, but screw all that policy crap and the stuff about the nation's greater good and affecting our international relationships. It's all about being in charge of something.

Why not - a vacation is a nice thing.

And there are so many important things to do down there in Texas.

Like chopping down trees - there is work to be done.
