Frist Vows Senate Will Block U.S. Gay Marriages

Residents of Mass. do not fret, Bill Frist to your rescue! On the floor of the Senate, Billy said:

"I want to be very clear. We reject intolerance, we reject hatred. We must treat all our fellow citizens with civility and kindness, but marriage should not be redefined by the courts and we in this body can't let it, we won't let it."

This being an election year, there is too much Hay to be made for the Right. The fact that 3 states allow any sort of gay union and no other state has to recognize such a union (thanks to the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996) doesn't seem to be enough. why you ask? If Kerry can be tied to gay marriage it can energize the GOP base. does it matter that Kerry and Cheney's view on the matter is identical? of course not!
