Bill Bennett a Moral Rock...or Compass...OR maybe it was a ROCK that went THROUGH his Moral Compass!?!

Bill Bennett, Conservative Champion and author of such books as THE BOOK OF VIRTUES, Moral Compass, and THE CHILDREN'S BOOK OF VIRTUES has a radio show. A couple days ago a conversation came up with a guest about the loss of social security revenue because so many abortions have taken place in the last 30 or so years. Not to be left out or out done in shallow, de-humanizing arguments on his own show, Mr. Bennett had this to say:

"But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down,"
...
[that is]"an impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky."
He has since claimed his comments were "mis-characterized". Actually, I think (regardless of the meaning of the sentences he uttered) we all have a pretty good understanding of him. Pretty pathetic for someone someone who's career is about lecturing others on morality.

How much truth is there to his statement? It sounds extremely insensitive, and it's entirely inappropriate for him to suggest such a thing without substantial evidence. Very very irresponsible.

i think it speaks volumes about someone's mindset when they are openly daydreaming about fixing problems by doing away with a certain race. He's not saying there should be a genocide, he's saying things would be better if there WAS a genocide. its disgusting.

Listen you guys, you may not agree with him, but I was mugged by a black baby!

I still have nightmares where I can hear the rustle of his no-name brand diapers, and the clucking of his hand-me-down pacifier and his sinister cooing in the shadows.

Black babies are a menace, and I now cross the street to avoid them. Lucky for me, they have to wait for a grown up to hold their hand crossing the street, so I have time to get away!

Seriously, that guy is dangerous if he's claiming to be moral and is casually throwing out comments like that.

Hey Polly, cut him some slack. Perhaps he had a bad run at the casinos that day and consumed one too many highballs!
