A Portly Update...

The House and Senate plan to pass a law forbidding the transfer of port control which was described below.

Well, just days after the ensuing uproar, it's admitted Bush didn't know about this until it was actually in the press. Despite being that detached from the story, he's taken the move by the house and senate as a personal affront. he's vowed to veto any bill changing the decision (he doesn't remember) he made regarding the ports. Is the administration THAT afraid to admit they've made a mistake or is there another reason? If so, and there may be a good reason, I'd like to hear it. "Trust Us" doesn't wash anymore, evidently even with the Republicans.

I'm outraged that THIS IS what he chooses to use the VETO for....why not use it to save medicare, or save public education...oR social security...BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he threatens to use it on yet another business OUTSOURCED....even though our longshoreman will still be staffing the ports, I can't consider this "labor friendly". I hate this man.

his behaviour is stupid even in the most cutthroat, self serving way.

The thing is, if this deal had been announced two years ago, in the heat of election season, most of the Republicans who are so "courageously" defying the president on this issue would be defending it with ferocity. But just watch the media give these craven knuckleheads credit for their integrity and bravery
