Despite lingering radio bans in a few spots and a crazy amount of negative protest, the Dixie Chicks' new album is number 1 on the Pop AND Country charts. i guess being right sometimes helps smooth things over.

And it's really good, too. That Neil Young album...well, his heart is in the right place. But this new Dixie Chicks album is good. And I like the unapologetic stance they've taken on this one.
a couple of weeks ago, dude on CNN was asking (and accusing) natalie maines about when musicians, songwriters, started antagonizing the consumer public. also, he wondered when songwriters "got" political. the sad part is he was serious.
i hate CNN.
