Well, I haven't seen Michael Moore's new movie, but Blue Cross Blue Shield has. their thoughts?
(From their own internal memo!)“You would have to be dead to be unaffected by Moore’s movie…”
“If popular, the movie will have a negative impact on our image in this community.” — Barclay Fitzpatrick, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Capital BlueCross

I read the full memo and did not have any issues or negative reactions to what he said. I think picking out those two sentences is kind of a "dirty" tactic. He is not trying to say the Moore is correct but trying to say to those uneducated about the system would be affected.
I am no fan of the insurance companies and to large extent think of it as a racket but misrepresenting someone to make your point defeats the purpose.
Madcap
well, i don't have any issue or negative reactions to what he said either. that's not really my point. he's saying that no one has brought to light what Moore brings out in this picture...at least not in the same, high profile way. He is saying that the story is compelling and that it makes them look bad.
you are looking at an industry that completely OWNS the politics and the media on their issue. They're not controlling the message here and it is a problem for them.
again, none of this is a value judgment. it is an observation of their reactions and concerns.
