Leave it to the Republicans in congress for the freshest hypocrisy...picked for you, fresh from the vine. Seems tax cuts aren't necessarily the order of the day...at least if you're a soldier. Bush proposed and GOP congress/senate approved, this would put an annual 'enrollment fee' on soldiers eligible for Veterans Administration healthcare. Bush was also trying to 'support our troops' by raising their co-pay. that one failed.
