Bringing Up Baby (1938)

One of my favorite Hollywood Classics is FINALLY on DVD, and a Special Edition to boot! It stars Cary Grant, Kathrine Hepburn, and is directed by (perhaps) the Greatest Director of all time: HOWARD HAWKS!

if you don't buy it, at least RENT it!

A few other faves of mine

Sullivan's Travels perhaps the greatest study of the healing power of comedy and Preston Sturges' masterpiece during his fabulous five year run from 1940's The Great McGinty to 1944's Hail the Conquering Hero, which includes such classic fare as The Lady Eve and The Palm Beach Story.

The Awful Truth the most sophisticated of the Hollywood Comedies of Remarriage with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne

My Man Godfrey My favorite movie with the inimitable William Powell and and an irridescent Carole Lombard NMominated for writing directing and all four acting oscars but not Best picture. It's also only film to lost all six of those categories in a year. Gregory La Cava a horribly underrated Hollywood director. "Remember prosperity is just around the corner." "I haven't found that corner yet!"
