Unfortunately this was not just Bush's war. Congress spoke and said "Go for it." That is what is so scary about the situation. France knew better, how come the Democrats didn't?
The democrats were still fighting a legacy of being perceived weak on defense. many were (happily) goaded into supporting the war. the press was jolly in its support. you have to remember, this was the first time in 100 years that one generation didn't have its 'own war'. you think a little thing like 'right and wrong' would stand in the way of someone's war...especially if they didn't fight it themselves? nope.
If all that supported the war left to fight it, when we came back there would be nothing here; you would have given it all away.
sounds like a man afraid to fight for what he believes. Recruiters are taking men up to 42 years in age. need a brochure?
