I found a picture of someone i'd assume is the villian in the new spider-man movie. Can you guess who this is gonna be? He looks a little more buff'd than he did last year in "Sideways".

I loved Sideways! Great movie. I would not have pictured Thomas Haden Church as Sandman. But it looks like he will pull it off.

um, Topher Grace is going to be Venom.
OR is topher grace going to be Eddie Brock, the guy who one day became Venom!?! sorta like Harry Osborn's son who, in the comic, later becomes the green goblin like his dad. this, of course, has been hinted at from the beginning.
The IMDB lists him as Venom. I hope that Raimi doesn't fall prey to what happened with the Batman series, having to add more and more bad guys in each successive film in an attempt to outdo the film before.
i still see it as a MAYBE. he may just be eddie brock and someone's reading into it. i need to snoop around some gossip sites.
I wasn't trying to claim it as definitive. I was just letting you know my source and what my source had to say so that you could judge for yourself. I think it would be weird if they were throwing in Eddie Brock but calling or even giving the impression that he was Venom, if he wasn't going to show up as Venom. What I mean is that Billy Dee Williams was listed as Harvey Dent, not Two-Face in the first Batman movie. Shawn Ashmore is listed as Bobby in X-Men but as Bobby/Iceman in X2. Thomas Hayden Church is listed as Sandman, not as...whoever his character is. Meanwhile, James Franco is still listed as Harry Osborn, even though they have been building up to the grey goblin for two movies. I'm just saying that it would be weird for anyone to shout him out as Venom if he weren't going to show up in the movie as Venom.
None of that is proof though, hell the movie isn't even due out for 2 more years.Dig on the nerd-o-matic sites and see what you can find.
oh no man, you may be right! i too hope they don't BAND MAN AND ROBIN it up and ruin the whole thing. i think Sam Rami knows better.
as for the use of 'venom' in the cast names on IMDB...i find that IMDB can be somewhat unreliable while pics are in production. pre prodcution is worst. its just rumor, to some degree, that isn't confirmed or denied by the studio to keep people interested.
That Sandman looks pretty rad. I'm looking for a set-up for a later picture. I mean they would have to do the whole Secret Wars thing and I don't see any listing for any of the Avengers or Fantastic Four...plus, how long will Spider-Man have the alien costume before it turns on him? and then he gives it up and it finds Brock...That's almost three movies in itself.
I'm totally kidding, btw. I expect the Venom origin to be completely re-written, but I do hope they will do a little black-costume Spidey fun before they turn it into Venom.
