Yahoo! News - US to turn gays away from sperm banks

So is this saying that Homosexuality is an inborn trait and not a learned behavior?

I'm not saying what YOU say is true. I'm just thinking out loud.

none-the-less, it is my understanding that the Int'l Red Cross still takes blood from gay men, Straight men are also exposed to STDs, and there are tests that take 72 hours to detect HIV anyway?

Are you saying that there is so much HIV tainted sperm coming in, that they had to do this?

I am certain that if you came in and said "i'm not gay" they wouldn't just say "ok, cool" and that's that. it would be tested ANYWAY. soooo, if they test it anyway, what's the point of the 'filter'?

i meant 'untrue' above, not 'true'

ok, let's walk through this again.

you said gay men cannot donate anonymously? please explain what that means.

Did you say they CAN donate non-anonymously?

finally, aren't all the donations tested anyway?
what is the point of excluding when everyone is tested?
are gay donors donating that much contaminated sperm? are they going by population statistics or DONOR statistics?

I would have to wonder (And it may be true) if the ratio of infected/non-infected MSM is similar to the ratio for sperm donor MSM. I would think not, if you remove from the equation those that are infected and know (and hopefully aren't still trying to be sperm donors).

Of course, i never thought they'd ban gay donors BECAUSE being gay is a genetic trait. the theology of this administration holds the exact opposite.
