Terror alert for three cites retracted

Lets just give the benefit of the doubt here...lets say this whole alert wasn't politically motivated. if we have a "HIGH ALERT" and then have it drop away a few hours later, that doesn't inspire trust in the system we have in place or a will to take it seriously.

It is a holiday weekend. even if it wasn't proven AS credible, i think it may have actually been better to leave the high alert status since more americans are mobilized this weekend and perhaps open for attack. being EXTRA prepared would have done us no harm.

i read posts like this and the last one and I realize that u hate george bush more than u love America.
Others had told me that but I thought it impossible. I was wrong.

Here the party of baby killers and same sex marriage and Ted Kennedy the drunken murderer thinks the FBI is giving alerts and taking them back instantly to make themselves look good.
That is the tone of ur last two headlines.
This is insane.

you totally misunderstand. the FBI did not give this warning and neither did the office of homeland security. it was the US AG and he is NOT the one that is supposed to be giving out these warnings anymore than the Postmaster general is. they bobbled around whether or not it was "real" and i'm not saying i give one rip about if it was or not. i'm saying that this sort of behaviour is completely incompetent as it encourages people to pay LESS attention to real warnings (this one or any other).

as for my my love of this country...it is my love of this country that makes me so angry at the waste i've seen from this president. our nation has not been held in such a low regard in the last 100 years.

it isn't because he's a republican, its because he is inept and because he can't be bothered with the running of this nation.

And don't start with the abortion garbage. i will remind you of Bush 41, Barbara Bush and Ford.

all pro choice.

I don't see you giving any praise to State Democratic Legislatures that pass anti-abortion laws. too busy mooning over the GOP?

Let me Clarifly, the FBI did send out a warning of an imminent threat of attack only to retract it. Then it was Ashcroft that did the announcement of a heightened threat. his words:

Terrorists are planning to "to hit the United States hard."

After the retraction, it was admitted no new evidence had come to light to show a change in status over the recent weeks/months.

Sooo, tell me. if we get a heightened threat and there's no new evidence (all according to the Bush Administration, not those dastardly democrats) of a new or heightened threat, exactly what IS going on if the administration isn't Ginning up this stuff?

anyone want to venture a guess?

Moreover, just what do you think is going on when the Administration calls for a hightened alert
