ABCNEWS.com : Limbaugh Says Nothing About Drug Reports

I've waited a good while to talk about this. Rush Limbaugh has a problem. He is a junkie. he likes to use another word or two in order to describe himself. Let's face the realities. there were problems in his life that he chose to treat with drugs. its sometimes called self-medicating, but have no doubts, he's an addict. He started getting is medicine from his doctor. as i understand it, that tapered off, but his appetite did not. Rush ended up purchasing controlled substances by the THOUSANDS. either he did this illegally or his Doctor should lose his license for writing such prescriptions.

As you likely know, Rush is under investigation for his involvement in an illegal drug ring. the very drugs this addict was taking.

what i want to know is this...why is he walking the streets? how does someone get caught buying in THAT quantity and not find themselves in jail? hasn't he been found to have procured an amount sufficient to be considered a dealer? why is he out free? maybe Agent M has the answer to that one?

Some of you may say he deserves treatment, and not jail time to fix his problems. to that i say sure...if that was the america we live in, then that would be fine. it certainly is not. We live in an america where you are jailed for much less in the way of posession. We live in an america where rehab is considered useless. this is the america that Rush has helped to shape--every day--for years. this is the america he wanted and i say he should get exactly what he asked for this time.

I've heard some conservative commentators, particularly Sean Hannity, asking where our democrat-compassion is when it comes to a man like rush. do we hold different standards for different people? To this i say nay. i may WANT the laws to be different, i may think we do things wrong, but that is my head. that is not the law. he deserves no less than the same treatment under the law that every other addict gets...he deserves the exact treatment he's helped to guarantee other junkies (who've been caught). he deserves to be arrested and he deserves to spend a few years in jail to think about the crimes he's committed. if he thinks otherwise now, he needs to say so. he needs to explain why he was wrong in the past. he needs to explain why he should be treated differently...why he shouldn't be tried as a dealer. then, if the laws change, maybe he can get a reprieve. until then, rush...junkie...dealer (under the law?)... you should be in jail. not because its what i want, but its exactly what YOU have said addicts deserve.

(NOTE: i was going to add quotes from rush on drug addicts, but there were so many from this guy so readily available, i thought it pointless).
