CBS News | Halliburton Gouging In Iraq?

OK, so we were to pay for the rebuilding of Iraq by the OIL that came from the land (i mean, that's what O'Liely told me on the radio)...so, why are we importing Oil? Why is Dick Cheney's old company (wait, still getting paid aren't you dick...i mean CURRENT company) Haliburton getting the contract? why are they charging $1.72 a gallon when we pay less HERE? how about the 71 cents/gallon avg in the middle east? Well we'll get paid back right? think again! Bush plans to veto the Iraq budget if the money going to Iraq is a LOAN rather than just a gift! i mean, god for bid we get paid back by the oil-rich nation.

FOR GOD'S SAKE, DON'T LET ANYTHING STOP THE WAR PROFITEERING!

In this Clarion Ledger article Haley Barbour says he won't ask Racist group THE COUNCIL OF CONSERVATIVE CITIZENS to take his photo off their website. Previously Haley claimed not to know anything about the group despite being photographed at their rally with the CCC leadership.

All part of "Haley's Plan" detailed below. He wants all the racist vote he can get his hands on evidently. i have to wonder if he's worried about his support when he's gotta dig every bigot he can find out of the closet.

Haley's Plan - Haley Barbour, Republican Candidate for Governor in Mississippi

Haley Barbour has a plan for Mississippi. It includes supporting organizations like the CCC (Council of Conservative Citizens). This internationally known organization is an offshoot of the old White Citizens Council which fought integration in the civil rights era. A few years ago, Trent Lott tried to distance himself from the group when his ties became public.

HALEY'S PLAN IS DIFFERENT!

Why on earth would he need the distance? its 2003, and Haley Barbour feels that its safe to coddle such bigots, right? what it is wrong with this picture? The problem is Haley. He has a plan. It's to come back to Mississippi (after being away for DECADES) and try to get votes the old fashion way--by stirring up the bigots and hoping they vote. its HALEY'S PLAN.

The Clarion Ledger asked him about this photo and his ties to the CCC, to which he claimed to be unfamiliar with the CCC. the problem is, there was no follow-up with this. the paper just let it go and no one picked it up.

HE IS LYING. He was at their annual BBQ/Political Rally when the photo was taken showing him standing with the CCC leadership. ANYONE involved in GOP politics in this state knows about the CCC and knows about Blackhawk. Trent Lott had a minor scandal because of his ties to the CCC back when Haley was RNC chair. He doesn't KNOW? well, we know.

HALEY'S PLAN: Exploit the bigot vote.

It is clear Mississippi cannot afford this kind of trash.

It's something you can believe, because it's him. you think the Dept. of Homeland Security will be on this one? His group has been responsible for more terrorism in this country than just about anyone i can think of from the Oklahoma City bombing to the abortion clinic bombs. this week's 700 Club show had this gem:

And Now...Pulp Friction (A Kill Bill Review)

i really loved this movie. read the review above if you like, but i'll list a few things to watch for:

Shaw Brothers: SB was the biggest hong kong, kung fu studios in the 70s. the movie opens up with not only their logo, but also designates their version of widescreen is being used "Shaw Scope". part of the movie was shot on the old shaw brothers lot.

Next is a colorful and somewhat bad "Our Feature Presentation" title that is VERY reminiscent of the sorta logos you see on HK movie rentals on the old VHS tapes.

Sonny Chiba: is the Japanese sword maker. he is the star of the Streetfighter movies from the 70s. you may also recall that this is the guy Christian Slater's character LOVES in True Romance. He takes Alabama to see Chiba's movies. Tarantino wrote (True Romance).

Gordon Liu: Gordon is the bald pal to Sonny's character. he was always bald in his 70s movies, and regarded as one of the BEST kung fu actors of all time. he never really came to the US to make films. He stared in "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" after which the Wu Tang clan named their first album.

Red Apples: Red Apple Cigarettes are the cigs that Bruce Willis' character buys at Marsalis' bar in PULP FICTION. they do not exist as an actual brand, but as Uma walks through the airport, you can see a giant ad for them!

Yellow Track Suit: Uma wears a yellow Track suit like Bruce Lee wears in his last film GAME OF DEATH (where he fights Kareem Abdul Jabar!).

Something is going on when the new prime minister of Palestine, Ahmed Qurei is about to resign just over a week after he's sworn in. It seems that he is having the same problems with Yasir Arafat that the 1st Prime Minister (Mahmoud Abbas) had. these appointments have come at times when Arafat has come under fire. I think this has been his whole life and he does not know how to let go. more to the point, Arafat has squandered some real opportunities because he, in my opinion, just does not know when to stop fighting. he's done it so long, he just doesn't know how to stop.

in many ways, arafat's goals are just, but i wonder if he's capable of achieving them. is he willing to stop fighting long enough to win? Israel may want peace, but are they willing to give peace to HIM?

sadly, i think the answer may be no.

Seems newsweek is running a cover story on the junkie. Newsweek confirmed with law enforcement that Limbaugh had bought roughly 30,000 pills from his dealer.

the article takes a strong view of the man, and its more than i could say that the mainstream press has said, substantively, about him in a decade.

um, if they don't want the old one, why not take the col. and make him a younger guy? wouldn't that be a LITTLE bit better than the old one, yet keeping the theme.

but...in the end, its ole miss...so its hard for me to feel sorry for them. GO STATE!
