In Miss. the governor can call a special session that brings the legislature 'back' to the capitol to handle a specific (set by the governor) bill. usually done when the legislature is out of session (66-75% of the year).
Barbour has done this to an extent unseen before. example: the Legislature kills bill X and barbour wants it anyway, while they are still in regular session, he calls a special session of the legislature over the weekend in a bid to bring them back and get the bill he wants.
say he wants 5 issues, he'll call 5 seperately instead of 1 covering all 5 issues.
It costs us at LEAST $30k a day to have a specail session.

Help an out-of-state brother out. What is Barbour doing with special sessions?
